It is easy to get me talking. I suppose it must be easy to get me writing, right?
I passed the monthly writing target recently, and I need to step up the game. I am pondering whether writing once a week is a too ambitious target. Or is it better to aim for biweekly first?
Many ideas pop up in my head, but I don’t have adequate time to pull off consistent writing.
I deduce that my difficulty is I need a pretty long time for writing, even for a short essay. I cannot jot down my idea for 5 minutes and then continue it the next day for another 5 minutes until the article is completed.
I usually put my thoughts in the draft because I cannot directly execute them when they pop up. But when I got time to complete it, the sparks for that specific idea were usually gone. In that case, I typically proceed with the new topics that come across my mind at the moment.
Some people on the internet say that writing is more complex than talking because we will be more intrigued to improve our writing. On the contrary, our words are not retractable once we say them. Thus, in writing, we will be more inclined to pause for thought, do a bit of research, and review for mistakes.
This is food for thought for me today: How can I simplify this writing process? So how do you manage to hone skills in hobbies or side hustles if you have a long-hours day job? Do you guys have any tips?
