I actively coach my team and fight for their promotions & compensation when they deserve it. However, no matter what you do, people will always have something to say. Some ask, "Do you ever regret coaching a team that might surpass you?". This morning, I reflected on such comments and concluded: I have no regrets. In leadership, the real threat is not being outshined by your mentees. It's becoming stagnant while others evolve. Over the last 13 years climbing the career ladder, I have encountered my fair share of challenges. Contrary to popular belief, the higher you go, the challenges don't necessarily get tougher. But I won't lie - there were moments when they felt almost too much to handle. Nevertheless, the persistence paid off. My quest for finding the right career path turned out to be a journey of self-discovery. It guided me to find my core values and, eventually, my current role which is a true-fit for my professional fulfillment.
