fast-track burnout recovery ritual

,

Have you ever felt so drained that even sleep couldn’t fix it? That was me last night. Something at work had me so upset that I decided to sleep early despite the deadlines. I couldn’t focus on anything anyway. Usually, sleep resets everything. However, this morning, I couldn’t get out of bed. No energy. No motivation. Not even the will to smile.

I am naturally full of energy, even when I’m sick or stressed. But this time, if there were a machine to measure it, my body battery would have hit zero. My husband, who is usually so chill, even pushed me to lift weights and dragged me shoe shopping to cheer me up. That’s when I knew I wasn’t myself and had to activate my speed recovery ritual. This ritual has always helped me bounce back faster when my energy crashes. So, I followed it, and by the afternoon, I finally felt like myself again.

My Recovery Ritual

  1. prayers, a perfect and meaningful wudhu and prayer
  2. walking, clears my head
  3. fixing my life: watching morning rituals video, making my bed, washing dishes, tidying up my books & skincare
  4. eating sweets and carbs, a quick dopamine boost
  5. writing, clears my thoughts and restores clarity

I refuse to be stuck in a low state. Feeling overwhelmed is inevitable, but staying helpless is unproductive and dangerous. We have to take action before it drags us deeper. Having these rituals helps me stay resilient, no matter what life throws at me. And in any career, resilience isn’t just useful, it’s essential for growth and success.

Why This Works?

When you feel drained, everything seems out of control. Except, it’s not. We can always shift our situation. Taking small actions (making bed, or walking) will signal to our brain that we’re back in charge.

The brain releases dopamine when we complete a task. The “win” and “I got this” feeling give us a sense of progress. So, pick one small, easy task and complete it to make you feel good about yourself.

Journaling helps structure our thoughts and regain mental clarity. Watching productive videos, listening to uplifting podcasts, or being around high-energy people will also motivate us.

Final Thoughts

My husband once said, “We’re kids trapped in adult bodies with the ambitions of teenagers.”. We love learning endlessly, taking risks, and seeing life as a game to win. That’s probably why I recover from burnout by creating small wins, because progress, no matter how tiny, keeps me moving.

Life is an adventure where progress and challenges make everything exciting. If you see life the same way, maybe this strategy will work for you too! What are your recovery strategy? Drop your best and fastest burnout recovery tips below!
