Good morning! Today, I’ve decided to embark on the journey of daily journaling, starting with this morning. Let me share with you what prompts ChatGPT suggested:
- Gratitude: What are the three things you’re thankful for today?
- Intentions: What are your main objectives for the day?
- Reflections: What new insights did you gain about yourself yesterday?
- Affirmations: Set a positive tone for your day with a powerful affirmation.
- Feelings: How are you feeling this morning, and what’s driving those emotions?
- Goals: Identify a small but significant step towards a major goal.
- Challenges: What hurdles might arise today, and how will you navigate them?
- Visualizations: Picture your ideal day – how does it look?
- Self-care: What’s one thing you’ll do just for yourself today?
- Mindfulness: How will you stay present and focused throughout the day?
- Successes: Reflect on a recent achievement and its impact on you.
- Inspirations: Who inspires you and why?
- Creativity: What’s a new idea or creative thought you’ve had recently?
- Relaxation: When will you take time to unwind today?
- Kindness: How can you spread a little kindness today?
After skimming through these prompts, I’ve decided to focus on gratitude, intentions, feelings, and visualizations for my first entry.
I felt elated this morning; I managed to wake up at 5 AM, enjoy a short walk, have a fulfilling breakfast (although it’s too spicy hahaha), and start my journaling at 7 AM while listening to Surah Al Waqi’ah jiharkah (check it out here). It’s a victory for me to respond thoughtfully to my driver’s significant mistake earlier – it’s a testament to my growing maturity. Kudos to me!
Today’s agenda is clear: list down all urgent pending items, take baby steps, and coordinate with my team to tackle them efficiently. I’m consciously choosing not to delve into any strategic tasks today to stay centered and manage the immediate ‘fires’. Lately, things have felt chaotic, and my goal is to bring some order to that chaos.
But here is an interesting intermezzo: as I am writing this, I suddenly got a creative idea without intending to. I’ve realized who this blog’s audience is: young finance professionals. It does excite me! Yeay!
Huhu. I just realized the impact morning journaling could have on my day. It adds a layer of consciousness, direction, and purpose to my routine. Now, I envision myself conquering those long-overdue tasks by the day’s end. Bismillah – with Allah’s strength, I’m ready to take on the day!
